Question:

77 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when he will publish a new racing authority Bill; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 37, 40, 66 and 77 together.

In my statement of 1 October 1992 I envisaged that the new Irish horseracing authority would be established early in 1994. That is still my aim.

It is my intention that the main interests in the industry, including employees and regular racegoers, will be represented on the authority.
