Vol. 433 No. 3

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Crawford—when the next tenant purchase scheme will be offered to local authorities; (2) Deputy Byrne—the operation of the Office of Public Works canal at Kilmore Quay, County Wexford, and the potential liability of the State arising from claims of negligence; (3) Deputy Harney—the allegations made by a member of the Garda Síochána in the Dublin District Court on 20 May, 1993 to the effect that summonses were being interfered with internally; (4) Deputy De Rossa—the reports that Ireland may now receive well below £8.6 billion in EC Structural Funds and the decision by the Government to veto the regulations governing the shareout of Structural Funds if Ireland's share is reduced; (5) Deputy Deenihan—the threatened closure by Kerry County Council of Ballinagher Bridge, County Kerry, resulting in major inconvenience to 300 families in the Lixnaw/Ballyduff areas and to tourists who use this route during the summer.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputy De Rossa; Deputy Byrne; Deputy Harney; and Deputy Deenihan.
