Vol. 433 No. 6

Written Answers. - Commission on Disability.

Mary Harney

Question:

115 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the number of submissions he has received in relation to the terms of reference of the proposed Commission on Disability; and if he is now in a position to set the terms of reference and appoint the commission.

I have received 90 submissions in relation to the terms of reference of the Commission on Disability. The process of drawing up the terms of reference, in consultation with the relevant Government Departments and persons with a disability, and appointing the commission has already commenced.

The Deputy can rest assured that there will be no undue delay in setting up the commission.
