Vol. 433 No. 6

Written Answers. - Ballinagh (Cavan) School.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

134 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position of Ballinagh national school, Ballinagh, County Cavan; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Brendan Smith

Question:

155 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education if she will approve the provision of a new national school at Ballinagh, County Cavan, on a new site in view of the urgent need to provide proper school accommodation and the concern of parents about the danger to children resulting from the location of the present school building.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 134 and 155 together.

The need for a major upgrading of the accommodation at Ballinagh national school has been agreed in principle by my Department. Architectural planning of this project will be commenced in the near future as soon as a decision is made on which option for development is to be selected.
