Question:146 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Education if national lottery funds will be made available to the Shamrock Gael's GAA Club, County Sligo, for their major new development on playing fields at Coola, Sooey, County Sligo.

No application has been received by my Department from Shamrock Gael's GAA Club, County Sligo.
The Capital Grants Scheme for the Provision of Recreational Facilities which was administered by my Department was amalgamated in 1990 with the Amenity Grants Scheme operated by the Department of the Environment and the local authorities, who are now responsible for processing all such applications.
All of the funds under my Department's multi-annual capital programme for the provision of sports facilities at regional and local level are fully committed to existing projects. It is not possible therefore to provide funding for any additional projects under this programme at present.
