Business of Dáil.

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, the Dáil shall meet on Wednesday, 21st July and the following arrangements shall apply in relation to the sitting:

(1) the Dáil shall meet at 10.30 a.m. and shall adjourn forthwith not later than 4 p.m.;

(2) the sitting shall be suspended between 1.30 p.m. and 2 p.m.;

(3) there shall be no questions or private Members' business;

(4) matters may not be raised under the provisions of Standing Orders 20 (3) and 30;

(5) statements shall be made on the 4 Dáil Select Committees and the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and the following arrangements shall apply

(a) statements shall be made on each committee in accordance with the timetable at table 1 and the statements shall be made in accordance with the rota of speakers and the speaking times at table 2:

Table 1

10.30 a.m.-11.30 a.m. — Select Committee on Finance and General Affairs

11.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m. — Select Committee on Enterprise and Economic Strategy

12.30 p.m.-1.30 p.m. — Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs

2 p.m.-3 p.m. — Select Committee on Social Affairs

3 p.m.-4 p.m. — Select Committee on Legislation and Security.

Table 2

Chairperson — 10 minutes

Fine Gael — 10 minutes

Progressive Democrats — 10 minutes

Technical Group — 10 minutes

Government — 5 minutes

Opposition — 10 minutes

Government — 5 minutes

(b) the statements shall be made on

(i) the work of the Committees to date;

(ii) the work being carried out at present by the Committees;

(iii) the work the Committees would like to do; and

(iv) the resources and powers of the Committees;

(c) Members may share time; and

(d) Members may make more than one statement.
