Question:194 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number of persons on FÁS training schemes or courses; and the number of persons on social employment schemes.
Written Answers. - FÁS Training Schemes/Courses.
As on 27 August, 1993, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 14,388 persons on FÁS training programmes and 27,437 persons on FÁS employment schemes, of which 15,538 were participating on the Social Employment Scheme/Community Employment Development Programme.
Recruitment of an additional 5,000 persons to the Social Employment Scheme/Community Employment Development Programme is currently underway.
