213 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment when the necessary funds will be made available for the construction of houses in Maynooth, Celbridge and Clane in County Kildare under the voluntary social housing programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
My Department's involvement with the voluntary housing scheme relates primarily to the provision, within the allocation available in the Public Capital Programme, of funds for individual projects. The administration of the scheme, and the certification that particular projects comply with the terms of the scheme, are the responsibility of the local authority, in this instance Kildare County Council. Formal applications for the funding of the projects referred to have not been received from the council.
