Vol. 434 No. 2

Written Answers. - Shared Ownership Scheme.

Avril Doyle

Question:

220 Mrs. Doyle asked the Minister for the Environment if he has satisfied himself with the working of the shared ownership scheme with regard to the limitation of income to £12,000; his views on whether there should be a ceiling on the house price or a limit on the equity loan; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A review of the terms of the shared ownership scheme, together with the terms of the other schemes introduced in "A Plan for Social Housing", is in hand in my Department. Pending completion of the review and decisions arising from it, I do not propose to comment on suggestions for specific changes in any of these schemes.
