243 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment the number of visits he has made abroad since taking up office; the destination, date, duration of these visits, the purpose of these visits; the number of officials and others who accompanied him; the airline used on each visit; and the overall cost of each visit.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 243 and 244 together.

The total number of visits abroad which I have made since taking up office amounts to nine, of which five involved attendance at meetings of the EC Council of Environment Ministers, Minister of State, Deputy Browne (Wexford) has made three visits abroad and Minister of State, Deputy Stagg, has made four. The detailed information requested is set out in the following tables.
