Vol. 434 No. 2

Written Answers. - Headage and Premia Grants.

John Ellis

Question:

313 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will pay arrears of headage and premia due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

My Department is not satisfied that the person named is the owner of the animals on which he has claimed grants or that the lease of lands which he has taken from his mother is genuine. If he provides proof in regard to the ownership of the animals and proof that the lease is genuine his applications for headage and premia grants will be considered further.

Question:

314 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will pay all arrears of headage and premia due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

The person named is not the registered owner of the herd number quoted. The registered herd owner has, however, been paid all grants due to her under the 1992 cattle and equines headage scheme and December 1992 special beef premium scheme already. She has been requested to submit documentation in connection with her application under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme and when she does so, her eligibility for grants under that scheme will be considered further. The advance of the 1993 ewe premium scheme was paid on 25 July 1993.
