317 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will expedite cereal compensation payments to cereal growers who are due their acreage payments from mid-October 1993; and when they will be paid; and if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be paid.
My Department will commence making arable area payments to producers from mid-October. Whilst I expect that most of the payments will issue before the end of this month I cannot guarantee that any particular individual will be paid as examinations of applications, provided for in the regulations, are still being carried out.
