Vol. 434 No. 2

Written Answers. - Proposed School at Ballyogan-Leopardstown (Dublin).

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

379 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to provide a primary school at Ballyogan/Leopardstown, County Dublin; if she has had any discussions with any prospective patron for such a school; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department has no plans at present to provide a primary school in the Ballyogan-Leopardstown area. However, in view of further housing developments planned, the matter is being kept under periodic review and has been the subject of consultation with the Diocesan authorities.

Parents in Ballyogan are at present sending their children to a number of accessible national schools, one of which has a considerable amount of surplus capacity.
