407 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to extend the grants system to include mothers working in the home who wish to further their education by distance education; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Only full-time courses are currently recognised by my Department for the purposes of the third-level grants system.

My Department will, however, keep the matter under review as part of the ongoing review of the grants system.
