Vol. 434 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) School Building.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

443 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to provide a permanent building for the new post-primary all-Irish school in Tallaght.

A new all-Irish Postprimary School under the aegis of County Dublin Vocational Education Committee opened in temporary accommodation in the Cumann Gaelach premises in Old Bawn, Tallaght, this September. As with other All-Irish Schools, recognition was granted on a trial basis for an initial period of six years. The question of the provision of a new permanent school building would not normally arise until full recognition is granted.

My Department will, however, continue to monitor the accommodation situation in consultation with County Dublin Vocational Education Committee.
