Vol. 434 No. 2

Written Answers. - Adare (Limerick) School.

Michael Finucane

Question:

67 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that no construction work has taken place since April 1993, at Adare Girls National School in County Limerick and that as a result of this, the new extension which was to be completed by September 1993, is now unfinished, resulting in extreme annoyance and concern among pupils, teachers and parents; when this work will be completed; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware that because of certain difficulties which have arisen, which are now the subject of arbitration proceedings between my Department and the building firm involved, construction work has ceased at the building project for the school in question. Tenders for the completion of the project are due to be received by 15 October next and every effort will be made to have the works in question completed as soon as possible.
