Vol. 434 No. 2

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Phil Hogan

Question:

145 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance the total number of applications that were received by each Government Department in respect of funding from the national lottery for each county and for each year since 1988; the successful applications and the amounts received for each of those years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

While I am responsible for the raising of funds through the running of the national lottery the administration of spending programmes funded from the proceeds of the lottery is a matter for the responsible spending Minister to whom any queries ought to be addressed. My Department has responsibility for only one national lottery grant-aided scheme, namely Gaeleagras which is for the training of Civil Servants in the Irish language.
