Vol. 434 No. 5

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Durkan — the need to restore free transport facilities to a person, details supplied in County Kildare, who was attending a special school until recently; (2) Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)— the sale of 77 acres at Oakpark research centre in Carlow; (3) Deputy Eoin Ryan — the escorting of involuntary patients to psychiatric hospitals; (4) Deputy Gilmore — the industrial dispute involving ambulance drivers employed by the Eastern Health Board which has led to serious disruption of ambulance services; and the need for intervention to secure an early end to the dispute and a return to work; (5) Deputy Sargent — the need to ensure that no further public money or land is handed over to the currrent Dublin Zoo authorities until the Doyle report is published, given the imminent prospect of the dissolution of the Royal Zoological Society of Ireland and the transfer of all its assets, including animals, to a new limited liability company; (6) Deputy F. Fitzgerald — the damage to the valuable collection of books and manuscripts in the National Museum caused by rain coming through the roof on Tuesday, 5 October 1993; (7) Deputy Kirk — the need to provide the necessary finance to build an extension at Scoil Uí Mhuirí, Dunleer, County Louth.

Selected for discussion are the matters raised by Deputies Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny), F. Fitzgerald, Gilmore and Kirk.
