Vol. 434 No. 5

Written Answers. - Golden (Tipperary) Garda Barracks.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

58 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, she has in relation to the renovation of the Garda Barracks, Golden, County Tipperary; when this work will commence; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am advised by the Garda authorities that extensive refurbishment works are required at Golden Garda station. An estimate for these has been received from the Office of Public Works.

There is approval in principle to carry out refurbishment works at this station. It is not possible, however, to carry out any improvements to this centre this year because of other commitments on the available resources. It is proposed to carry out the works in question in 1994 when additional finance becomes available.
