Question:

201 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education the international organisations of which Ireland is a member for which she has responsibility.

UNESCO: The Department of Education makes provision in its estimates for the payment of the national contribution to UNESCO. It provides the secretariat for the Irish (interdepartmental) National Committee for UNESCO.

The Council of Europe and OECD: The Department of Education provides the Irish representation on the education committees of the Council of Europe and the OECD. It coordinates the national contribution to educational projects organised by the two organisations.
