Vol. 434 No. 9

Written Answers. - All Irish School.

Enda Kenny

Question:

202 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Education when it is intended to provide a new all Irish school, that is, Scoil Raifteirí, Castlebar, County Mayo, in view of the fact that temporary buildings have been provided for many years; if her attention has been drawn to the overcrowding there at the present time; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

An application for new permanent accommodation to replace the current prefabricated accommodation at this school was received in my Department earlier this year and is being considered.

In the meantime, a grant has been approved towards the cost of providing an additional prefabricated classroom and office following the appointment of an additional teacher.
