the schools in Wexford that have access to a remedial service; the percentage of pupils covered by the service; and the schools which have applied but are still waiting for a service.
The schools in County Wexford which have access to a remedial service are set out at Appendix A attached. The schools which have applied but are still waiting for a service are set out in Appendix B.
As a result of the most recent allocation of an additional 86 remedial teacher posts, including 5 posts allocated to County Wexford, 68 per cent of pupils in County Wexford now have access to a remedial service.
I will be keeping the question of further need in this area under review as part of a broader commitment to appoint a substantial number of additional remedial teachers in the coming years. The needs of all schools, including the schools in County Wexford, will be considered in this context.
