Vol. 434 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tramore (Waterford) Sewerage System.

Austin Deasy

Question:

99 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment the alternative proposals, if any, he has for the location of the outfall pipe for the proposed Tramore sewerage system in County Waterford.

The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for this scheme examined a number of options for the location of the proposed outfall pipe. Following consideration of the EIS and submissions received from interested parties, I certified in December 1992 that, subject to certain modifications, the proposed development would not have significant adverse effects on the environment. This statutory determination in effect approved the recommendation of the EIS to site the outfall pipe at Rinnashark Channel.
