146 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Justice the number of convictions, if any, that were obtained against bus and lorry owners in Cork city for defective exhaust controls on their vehicles; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that statistics are not compiled in a way that provides the information sought and to extract the information would require the expenditure of an unwarranted amount of Garda time and resources.
