Question:

17 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if grant aid for hostel accommodation will be available under the operational programme for Structural Funds for tourism from 1994-1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

34 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if grant assistance will be available for all hotels for upgrading and extending accommodation under the operational programme for tourism from 1994-1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Alan Shatter

Question:

40 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if grant aid for hostel accommodation will be available under the operational programme for Structural Funds for tourism from 1994-1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Paul McGrath

Question:

43 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if grant assistance will be available for all hotels for upgrading and extending accommodation under the operational programme for tourism from 1994-1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

John O'Leary

Question:

85 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if he will make grant-aid available to hotel owners to enable them to improve and upgrade their hotels; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is proposed to take Questions Nos. 17, 34, 40, 43 and 85 together.

The question of providing assistance for some form of accommodation development or improvement is under review at present as part of the preparation of the next tourism operational programme, and I will be making a decision on the issue in the coming weeks.
