Vol. 435 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dublin 15 Second Level Schools.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

126 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education if, in view of difficulties caused by the absence of a non-fee paying second-level school (details supplied) in Dublin 15, she will have arrangements made for a review of her Department's policy for that area; if the present situation is fair to pupils leaving primary schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Dáil Question No. 75 answered on October 6th 1993. The report and recommendation of the consultants has now been received and is being considered in my Department. I hope to be in a position soon to take a decision on the future provision of postprimary education in Castleknock, in the light of this report.
