135 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Education when approval will be given for the necessary extension to a special school (details supplied) in County Wexford; if she will give a time frame for the construction of this; and if she will expedite matters.
Following the appointment of an additional teacher at this school my Department offered to grant-aid the provision of a prefabricated classroom to accommodate the extra classgroup. The school authorities have accepted the level of grant-aid involved but have decided, with the Department's agreement, to utilise the funds approved to offset the cost of the provision by them of a permanent structure.
