I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Callely — the need for the Department of Education to recognise autism as a category separate from emotional disturbance with a view to developing an effective education system for autistic children; (2) Deputy Durkan — the urgent need for the Minister for Education to make the necessary arrangements to enable the school authorities at Maynooth post-primary school, St. Wolstan's Holy Faith, Celbridge, and Scoil lognáid Rís, Naas, to proceed with all new or extra facilities needed to meet their requirements by early 1994; (3) Deputy Dermot Ahern — the report that Irish Rail is to make redundant a number of employees currently working on the upgrading of the Dublin-Belfast rail link; and (4) Deputy Allen — the future of Irish Steel in view of a newspaper report to the effect that the plant could close in April next; and press comments by the Department of Enterprise and Employment in the matter.

The matters raised by Deputies Allen, Callely and Durkan are in order for discussion and have been selected accordingly.
