Frank Crowley

Question:

79 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when an equine headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named has now supplied a five-year lease for his rented land and payment of his 1992 equines headage scheme grant will be made within a fortnight.

80 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a beef premium grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The application of the person named for grants under the December 1992 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order payment will be made shortly.

81 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a suckler cow headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Further investigation is necessary before a decision can be made on this person's eligibility for grants under the December 1992 suckler cow and special beef premium schemes.

82 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if an additional farm grant is due to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Payment of a farm building grant will issue this week. However, as the applicant did not take out his farm plan within five years of assuming ownership he is not entitled to the special additional aid which is payable to suitably qualified young farmers under the farm improvement programme.

83 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a beef premium grant has been approved and issued to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if so, when payment issued.

The person named was paid his grants under the June 1992 special beef premium scheme on 9 July 1993. His December 1992 application for grants under the special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order payment will be made shortly.

84 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork was not paid for all animals in the 1993 premium scheme.

The person named applied for grants in respect of eight animals under the June 1992 special beef premium scheme but due to a clerical error was only paid grants on seven animals at the reduced rate of £28.12. Arrangements are now being made to pay full premium at the rate of £35.15 on each of the eight animals applied for. He has already been paid his grants under the December 1992 special beef premium scheme.

85 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment of a beef cattle premium to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

The person named has already been paid his grants under the December 1992 special beef premium scheme. He did not apply for grants under the special beef premium scheme in the June 1992 application period.

Under EC Regulations payments may not commence for the 1993 special beef premium schemes until after 1 November 1993 and even then only a 60 per cent advance may be paid in cases where the necessary administrative or on-the-spot checks have been carried out. It is expected that payment of advances will commence at the end of the month.

86 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when cattle headage, suckler cow and special beef premium will be paid to the estate of a deceased person (details supplied).

The legal representatives of the person named were paid the 1992 cattle headage grant on 1 November 1993. The 1992 suckler cow premium and 1992 special beef premium will be paid within a week. There were no applications under the 1993 schemes.
