Vol. 435 No. 3

Written Answers. - Head Injury Services.

Charles Flanagan

Question:

115 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the lack of services available to persons suffering from severe head injury; if his attention has been further drawn to the existence of Headway, the National Head Injuries Association, acting as an education forum and offering guidance, understanding, counselling, encouragement and support to those with head injuries and their family; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I met with Headway earlier this year. Arising from that meeting I have asked the review group which is examining health services for people with physical and sensory disability to pay particular attention to the needs of persons suffering from head injury. The review group will report next year.
