Vol. 435 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions Written Answers. - Official Recognised Border Line.

Michael Bell

Question:

4 Mr. Bell asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the official recognised line of the Border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland in the entire area of Carlingford Lough, County Louth; the document of agreement with the British Government in which the exact Border line is contained; when it was agreed; if it was ever revised or amended; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

No line of division in Carlingford Lough has been agreed between the British and Irish Governments. The issue is bound up with the overall political problem of Northern Ireland and ultimately will be resolved in that context.
