Vol. 437 No. 2

Written Answers. - Dublin Maternity Hospitals Accommodation.

Frances Fitzgerald

Question:

169 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself that there is adequate accommodation in the labour wards in Dublin maternity hospitals.

I am satisfied that there is adequate accommodation in the labour wards in the Dublin maternity wards. The Deputy will be interested to learn that each of the three major maternity hospitals in Dublin have recently opened new delivery suites which have been built to the highest standards. These new delivery suites consist of individual birthing rooms complete with en suite facilities to allow maximum privacy for patients during labour.
