Vol. 437 No. 2

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Connaughton — the increasing number of burglaries in rural Ireland, in particular the recent spate of such incidents in Moylough, County Galway, where the local post office was raided twice in one week; the adequacy of Garda cover between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. when most of these raids take place; and the plans to combat such crimes; (2) Deputy Durkan — when unemployment benefit or assistance will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who has not received any payment since early autumn; (3) Deputy Gay Mitchell — the need for two additional all-Irish secondary schools in Dublin, one on the north side and one on the south side, to meet the huge demand for such schools as evidenced by the 18 all-Irish primary schools in the city; (4) Deputy Michael Kitt — the position regarding the proposed extension to Glenamaddy national school, County Galway; (5) Deputy Hogan — when work will commence on the new decentralised Government offices in Kilkenny.

The matters raised by the following Deputies have been selected for discussion: Hogan, Connaughton, Gay Mitchell and Michael Kitt.
