Vol. 437 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers.

I wish to raise a point of order——

There will be no point of order, Deputy, please.

It relates to questions that were disallowed.

The Deputy may raise the matter some other time, she may not raise it now.

I do not wish to be disorderly but——

The Chair is adhering to the Standing Orders of this House that questions shall commence at 2.30 p.m. and I shall hear no other matters.

On a point of order——

I am seeking the Chair's assistance.

The Deputy may raise the matter in another way, she may not raise it now.

I am aware of Standing Order No. 51, but questions tabled by Deputy O'Keeffe were disallowed and he will not have an opportunity to make a statement on Thursday.

Deputy Owen, please resume your seat. You are obstructing the Chair in a most disorderly fashion at the commencement of questions to the Taoiseach for which a time limit applies.

I am trying not to be disorderly.

Questions which I tabled relating to the summit on Northern Ireland were disallowed. When will the Taoiseach make a statement on that matter?

I am sorry, Deputy, but I cannot hear you now.

Are you, Sir, suggesting that a point of order cannot be raised at Question Time.

Some other time, Deputy.

(Interruptions.)

Are you, Sir, giving a ruling that a point of order cannot be raised at Question time.

Will the Deputy please resume his seat?
