Question:

84 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the position regarding the amendment of the Casual Trading Act, 1980; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A Bill to amend the Casual Trading Act, 1980, is currently being drafted by the Attorney General's Office following the Government approval of the general scheme of the Bill. The Bill will be presented to the Oireachtas at the earliest possible stage. The object of the Bill is to achieve greater efficiency in the operation and enforcement of the Casual Trading Act, 1980.
