Vol. 437 No. 2

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

101 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of the valuable resource community centres constitute and the increasing financial burden faced by local groups trying to build or maintain such centres, he will provide extra national lottery funding for their construction and maintenance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

102 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment when he intends to make the next allocation of national lottery moneys to local and community bodies.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 101 and 102 together.

There is no provision in my Department's Estimates for 1994 for grants under the former amenities-recreational facilities grants scheme and there is no other provision from which funding could be provided for community centres.
