Question:178 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance his views on the proposal contained in the White Paper of the Commission of the European Communities on Growth, Competitiveness and Employment to the effect that there should be a reduction in the relative cost of labour with respect to other productive factors by reducing the employer's social security contributions and increasing revenue through other means so as to reduce labour costs while maintaining social protection of workers.
