Question:

187 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance the cost of reducing the corporation tax rate to 10 per cent for the hotel industry and other internationally traded tourist sectors.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that to determine accurately the precise information requested by the Deputy would require an examination of all the corporation tax returns of cases which would come within the scope of such a concession. Such an examination could only be carried out at a disproportionate cost and it is, therefore, not possible to cost this proposal.
