Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - Kinsale (Cork) Garda Station.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

260 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice her views on the need to enlarge the Garda Station in Kinsale, County Cork, which was originally built to cater for 4 members and to which 11 members are now attached; and whether she will have arrangements made to ensure that the necessary work will be started and completed in time for the tourist season.

It is proposed to expand and upgrade the Garda Station at Kinsale. This will involve converting the adjacent married quarters and carrying out alterations to the main station building. Tenders have been obtained by the Office of Public Works for this project and it is expected that a contract will be placed in the near future.

The Deputy can be assured that the project is being advanced as quickly as possible.
