Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - Baldoyle (Dublin) Garda Station.

Enda Kenny

Question:

278 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice if it is proposed to provide a Garda Station at Baldoyle, Dublin 13, to provide a police service for the expanding Baldoyle area.

There are no proposals to provide a Garda station at Baldoyle at present. The Garda authorities inform me that Baldoyle is currently policed from Howth station and is also served by gardaí from the surrounding stations of Coolock, Raheny, Clontarf and the Garda "clinic" at Donaghmede.

A Community Garda is assigned to the Baldoyle area on a full-time basis and he is assisted by an additional Community Garda from Howth.

The Garda authorities are satisfied with the current policing arrangements for Baldoyle, which are kept under continuing review.
