Question:

321 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment , for each County and County Borough in each year from 1979 to 1993, the impact on the rates support grant of each authority of the ending of the supplementary welfare allowance demand in 1986, the abolition of the arterial drainage demands in 1987, the ending of the ACOT demand in 1988, the writing of subsidised capital loans in 1988 and their replacement by a system of capital grants, the transfer in 1988 of the bounty in lieu of rates from the Valuation Office and its merging with the rates support grant, the transfer in 1989 of rates on ESB property directly to the local authorities, the elimination in 1990 of the local authority contribution towards vocational education committees and the transfer in 1993 of fisheries recoupment from the Department of the Marine and its merging with the rates support grant.

Information in the format requested is not available in my Department. Compilation of the information at this stage in respect of events which occurred up to eight years ago would not be practicable having regard to the inordinate commitment of staff time and resources that would be involved.
