Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - Cereal Compensation Payments.

Ivan Yates

Question:

459 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will ensure that cereal compensation payments under the EC scheme are made to persons (details supplied) in County Wexford who produce grain in accordance with the scheme, and who are currently appealing his Department's decision not to pay them; if he will enter into an arrangement whereby those bona fide payments can be made for 1993; and if it is required to combine quota amongst these persons that this would apply from 1994 onwards in view of the fact that they fulfil all aspects of the criteria for the scheme including eligible land and the fact that they were actually separate units of production.

These cases are still under examination in my Department and I will contact the Deputy on them when the position is finalised.
