Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Treatment.

John Bruton

Question:

530 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Health if there has been a reduction in the category B waiting lists of 203, and the category C waiting lists of 630 for orthodontic treatment for children in County Meath, as disclosed in his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 444 of 10 February 1993, by Deputy John Bruton.

There are 406 children currently undergoing primary and specialist orthodontic treatment in the Meath community care area. The current waiting lists for such treatment are as follows: Category B — 226; Category C — 775.

I am at present considering methods to improve the dental and orthodontic services in all health board areas and I will be announcing measures to this end in the near future.
