Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Transport Grant.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

560 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Education the reason a school transport grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal on behalf of his son for 1992.

The grant claimed in this case is for the Easter and summer terms of the 1991/92 school-year and the whole of 1992/93.

As I told the Deputy, in reply to Question No. 301 of 9 March, 1993, my Department is investigating this matter and will contact the Deputy when a decision had been made on the pupil's eligibility for grant assistance.

The investigation, which has taken longer and is more complicated than thought originally, is still continuing. I am not yet in a position to advise the Deputy of the outcome.
