Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - Drogheda School Accommodation.

John Bruton

Question:

584 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if she has received a request from Drogheda Vocational Education Committee to buy the premises formerly known as Ushers, Greenhills, Drogheda, County Louth, with a view to relieving the accommodation situation in the schools in the town of Drogheda; and if so, her views on the proposal.

A proposal from Drogheda Vocational Education Committee to buy the premises in question has been received in my Department. However, this proposal is being considered in the context of the accommodation problems being experienced in the Drogheda centre as a whole. These accommodation problems are currently being examined in my Department. It is hoped that a decision on the matter will be conveyed to Drogheda vocational education committee shortly.
