Question:607 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Education if she will assist in any way a claim for educational facilities (details upplied) lodged in her Department.

The proposal which the Deputy now outlines has not previously been brought to the attention of my Department and is significantly different from the subject matter of earlier inquiries received from the person in question.
These earlier inquiries had been concerned with my proposal for the establishment of pre-school projects.
The process of planning these projects is now at an advanced stage. My intention is that the projects be located in areas of particular disadvantage and that they make use of a developmental approach, by qualified teachers and with the active co-operation of parents.
I will have the proposal which the Deputy now outlines examined by my Department. I will advise the Deputy of the outcome as soon as possible.
