Eamon Gilmore

Question:

138 Mr. Gilmore asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will give a list of the names of persons, other than those in the permanent Civil Service, who currently hold positions in his Department, Ministerial office, or the office of each Minister of State; the nature of the appointment; and the current salary payable.

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows:

DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

Tánaiste's Office

Mr. Fergus Finlay

Special Adviser and Programme Manager

Salary: £42,000 per annum.

Ms Maeve Sweeney

Personal Assistant

Salary: £21,822 per annum

Ms Catherine Murphy

Personal Secretary

Salary: £8,386 per annum

Office of the Minister of State

No appointments have been made in the Department of Foreign Affairs by the Minister of State.

Development Cooperation Division

Mr. Fintan Farrelly

Salary: £37,300

Mr. Mike Scott

There are also a number of technical advisers employed on a contract basis under the Irish Aid Programme but who are not considered to hold positions within the Department.

Passport Office

In addition to the foregoing there are a total of 44 temporary clerical assistants in the Passport Offices in Dublin and Cork. They are paid according to the Clerical Assistant scale of £147.69 to £219.38 per week.
