152 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for Finance the total number of cases which paid probate tax up to the end of 1993; the amount raised; and the classes of asset, that is, farm, business, property, and other such assets that these receipts relate to.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the number of cases which paid probate tax in 1993 was 1,517 with a total yield of £1.7 million.

I am advised that it is not possible to give a breakdown of the type of property to which that yield relates as records are not kept in such a manner as to enable this to be done.
