Written Answers. - Leaving Certificate Fee Refund.

Question:

156 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education the reason a fee paid in respect of a repeat leaving certificate by a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not been repaid; and if her attention has been drawn to the fact that a commitment to pay this refund was given by her Department in October 1993.

A cheque for £108 was issued today by my Department to Mr Joyce's school.

I should add that my Department indicated that a refund would be made in a letter to the Deputy dated 30 November 1993, not in October.
