Vol. 438 No. 1

Written Answers. - Computerisation Programme.

Peter Barry

Question:

45 Mr. Barry asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs when the computerisation programme to enable a full passport issuing office to be established in Cork will be completed within his Department; if, for this purpose, he proposes to increase the capacity of the office in terms of personnel and space to meet this requirement.

I envisage that the computerisation programme to enable the Cork Passport Office to function as a full issuing office will be completed by the end of this year. Additional space and staffing for the office will be required and these aspects are receiving consideration at present.
